First
Linton Wells, 32, the intrepid adventurer, aviation enthusiast, and reporter for the Associated Press, followed and reported on the flight for 15,000 miles. He lost his job when he refused to return home, climbing instead into a World Cruiser's cockpit in Calcutta to share the adventure of flying across India and the Middle East. With Leigh Wade, Wells made the first non-stop record-breaking automobile trip across the United States and then set his own world record time for a trip around the world.
